VINTAGE BRIDAL VEILS REDESIGNED IN OUR BROOKLYN STUDIO

This heirloom veil has been passed down through five generations of women in the bride's family and is believed to be more than one hundred years old. Family members recalled being told that the veil was made with Italian lace. Entirely hand-sewn, the veil remains a remarkable example of craftsmanship, carrying its history from one generation to the next.

Our goal was not to alter the character of the veil, but to thoughtfully adapt it for a new wearer. We added a detachable wristlet bustle made with ivory Japanese double-face satin ribbon, allowing the bride to comfortably carry the veil throughout the celebration while preserving the original veil. The bustle is secured with a discreet metal snap and can be removed entirely. A new metal hair comb was also added and hand-wrapped with Italian tulle, with the placement customized to the bride's hairstyle and overall fit.
